when will it end?

The price for a gallon of gas has hit the $3.30 mark here in Washington Parish. Went up .33 since last weekend.

It aint high enough...... Maybe we can get it to 5.50 a gallon and keep the democrats from voting this time around...... Then may be we can get a true American in the white house in stead of a Muslim...

LPfishnTIM 02-26-2011 10:21 PM

its better than $6 or $7 they're paying everywhere else in the world! but it also sucks because we shouldn't be depending on foreign countries for oil, WE HAD A ENDLESS AMOUNT spilling in our gulf, there is no shortage!!! but we are paying $3, I DON'T UNDERSTAND!

I'm really not concerned with what folks are paying everywhere else in the world. I probably don't average burning a tank of gas a week but it still pisses me off to no end.

Hopedale Hustler 02-26-2011 10:33 PM

I drive from Hammond to baton rouge Monday through Friday and sometimes even Saturday and Sunday and since 3 weeks ago I went from averagely spending 90 on gas to about 130 and I thought 90 was bad

LPfishnTIM 02-26-2011 10:55 PM

I usually fill up twice a week, one tank to get back and forth to work and one tank for the weekend of fishing and driving around. that will cost me $175 when gas gets up to $3.50 a gal if I keep the same driving habits, I guess I'll be limiting my driving.

Asterisk-Rich 02-26-2011 11:11 PM

$3.89 up here

GEEZ!

My daughter will hop in her car and drive to Hammond, Hattiesburg, Slidell or New Orleans just to eat supper. Then, she complains about the gas prices. I remind her that, with her BS driving, she is doing her part to assure that the prices will continue to rise.

Over the last 20 years....gas per gallan is one of the lowest inflation products over all.... Milk and water have inflated more than gas

gckid 02-27-2011 06:52 AM

over a dollar and a half of that is taxes.

Raymond 02-27-2011 11:16 AM

Louisiana and Texas need to add a state export tax to every gallon of refined petroleum transported out their states! And the same needs to be added to each MCF of natural gas that moves through pipelines under our soil!!
The the bazkrids would think long and hard about exploration off their precious coasts!!!

Exactly what needs to be done.

LaAngler 02-27-2011 12:26 PM

the market should correct itself, all the tension in the middle east is causing it.

This is what I find to be the most ridiculous thing. Back in DFW, beer, tobacco and lottery are more expensive, but we pay $0.99 for a gallon of milk. Here, its 4 bucks.

Comparison
LA TX
Marlboro lights ~4 ~7
Budweiser 16oz 6pk ~5 ~7.50
Copenhagen ~2 ~4.75
Milk 4 .99

Doesn't make sense. Shouldn't things that keep you alive and healthy be cheaper??

Hopedale Hustler 02-27-2011 01:50 PM

I dunno where u find Copenhagen in la for 2 bucks

Hopedale Hustler 02-27-2011 02:59 PM

I'm reg red seal and cope dipper the cheapest I've found redseal has been 2.59 and I found cope snuff for 3.09 a couple times

simplepeddler 02-27-2011 03:02 PM

It will not end........sorry to say..........
We HAVE to allow our on crude to be used.

With all the unrest in the middle east.....we will see oil soar out of site this summer

Big Kahunaz 02-27-2011 03:47 PM

+ gas $$$ = less boats on the lake = more fish for me :D

if prices stay high....watch the market for 18-19 ft boats w/ <150 hp motors soar and a lot of bigger boats with the gas hogs get stuck on the market

This is where i feel boats like Pangamarine 7-8 mpg should have saved up some marketing money! I still gotta have me one of them boats....;)

Higher prices will not keep people off the water and will not slow down the BS joy riding on the highways, either. Tough times are ahead for fishing guides, tho.

Big Kahunaz 02-27-2011 09:48 PM

got a feeling it will hamper the ones who make the long drives often ....and if it gets to 5$ or more for gas....com on man....you can't tell me it wont slow down the amount of boats on the water....hell it did last time...and i hope the best for the guides

redalertlures 02-28-2011 08:19 AM

hell i stay at home now and its 3.30 here in this lil town, if it gets to $5 i will only go to work and to church.(but I can walk to church). I already sold the boat so I guess i will become a pier/bank fisherman or get out the ole flat bottom and use the motor mother nature gave me. lol

God I hope it doesnt come to that but our country is in so much turmoil right now who knows wats gonna happen?

Andy C 02-28-2011 10:00 AM

diseal has been 3.50-3.96 here for 5 or six months. you just pay it and go on. as some of yall know i used to live down there and still have a place in hackberry (5hours from here) fuel prices are not going to cut into my fishing. i will cut something else out first.

Big Kahunaz 02-28-2011 11:51 AM

I agree with ya there. I'll pull my boat with a corolla if need be! =)

I said the samething few summers ago when Gas was $4..NO Change in boat action... They just load up more to one boat.....

Or go out in a smaller boat which means BANK BURN TIME

Garfish 02-28-2011 02:06 PM

$3.20 in Cypress.
