Looks like the weather will be shaping up to have a good tournament. Anyone going to the weigh in? Hopefully nobody will get shot at this year. :*****: Check out this boat rigged with a radar for running the river to venice.

im going fri and sat. not going to be there sunday.

man I'd love to, but the fishing that weekend should be awesome, so I'm going hit the water myself instead

With the warming temps the fog is going to be brutal to run down river.

next weekend. weigh in will be at the hornets arena. trade show at the convention center with a shuttle running back and forth if you want to use that. i will be there saturday and sunday we will be following somebody....probably vandam :smokin::smokin: i'm pumped and cant wait for next weekend!!

For those of us not going...i found when it will be aired on espn2.

Talked with a buddy of mine this morning, and said he was pre-fishing for a club tournament yesterday in Bayou Black and wound up fishing along side Van Dam, said it was pretty awesome just to watch him fish.

I going hopefully if the wife don't have the baby by then ..

I plan on being there Saturday.

That's why I will be in New Orleans. Thank God the classic expo is in the same building. I might have been looking for a rope.

With this warm weather there should be some heavy stringers,will be interesting.

early this week like monday i heard its been tough fishing not like it should be but those guys are tight lipped so we will see.

this is going to be an interesting classic all that north wind last week, and then this week we have had a south wind, all that muddy water getting pushed back into the marsh, plus its a full moon tonight which I would consider that to be a negative, also its gonna be REAL FOGGY tomorrow a.m. That is gonna be another set back to the anglers who are gonna run to Venice, there gonna need that radar/sonar because they will be driving blind for the first couple hours of daylight.

Aaron Martin has over 20 pounds already.

the top three fished the tank ponds, close run and more fishing time, I guess that strategy worked. there are some big bass in Venice, I was talking to a guy who owns a business next door to where I work he has a camp in Venice, he has 3 boats, bay boat,bass boat and a boat with a surface drive. he goes places everyone else can't go with his surface drive to catch bass, he was catching 5 and 6ld bass this summer and catching numerous amounts of them too.

big bass was 8lds 15oz caught by Boyd Duckett and the 23 year old from Idaho caught 28lds today along with a couple other guys, Now New Orleans bass are gonna get raped by every coony who wants to catch some big bass to eat!

KVD won by double-digits. The dude is impressive.

yeah, that Lowrance side imaging sonar and his sick ability to will fish in to biting his bait is awesome,

KVD is the best bass fisherman out there,period.

The lake has been getting pounded for the last 4 years. Severel 8+ and 3 double digit fish caught last year. Most bass clubers release these fish however WLF just arrested two local with 92 bass in their cooler. They need 2 boats patrolling and check limits every day to protect the resource.

"VanDam seems to be quite a bit better than the rest of us," Martens said. "Sometimes I wish he wasn't here, but I like him too much. But I think a lot of us would do a lot better if he wasn't around."

Thought that arrest happened a few months back??

Capt, I agree with you. Hey, will the shrimp trawlers will be in there in May and drag out the grass and the bass like Mud Lake? Or will it stay fresh with the diversion running?

No too many cypress stumps to trawl in. However the north shore of salvadore looks good.

Don't know about that radar. Looks like right height to fry a few brain cells.

Impossible...but would suck if it was...
