My new wheels!

After 93K miles in two years, the old Duramax was not the truck for me anymore. I was tired of the high price diesel, tired of the ever threatening high dollar repairs, and the big truck ride - I got a new set of wheels!

Since my pulling days are few a far between, I scaled back to the 1/2 ton market and by far, the best deal out there was the Dodge Big Horn 4x4. Incredible ride, especially compared to the 2500 HD, and runs like a spotted a%$ ape with the big HEMI! Will see how it works out for me!

i looked at this same truck when i was shopping for a new truck cant beat the price tag ! nice ride dude

Finfeatherfur 10-14-2010 05:25 PM

They found this one in Denham Springs since they did not have any on the lot with the fron bench seat!

fishinpox 10-14-2010 05:25 PM

u get em below 30k?

Finfeatherfur 10-14-2010 05:27 PM

Nope, but close especially with the media package and features this one came with. Happy on the deal.

Dodge 1500 4door 2wd

tgsx750f2000 10-14-2010 08:35 PM

I also have the 1/2 ton dodge with the hemi and I get right at 13.

Dink 10-14-2010 08:38 PM

That's the difference. I got the 4.7(smaller) V8 thinking I'd save money on gas.......not so smart......

Man that's crappy. The worst I have ever gotten is 13-13.5 pulling a trailer with 3 4wheelers in it and 1 behind my truck! I have a 1/2 ton Silverado Z-71

jldsc 10-14-2010 09:27 PM

i really like the front ends of the new dodges...BUT...BUT, I would never buy one because the interiors do not last in a dodge, just my opinion from company trucks that ive owned, but still a nice lookin truck!!

Hopedale Hustler 10-14-2010 10:07 PM

Uhhhh..... no, I couldn't!!!!!!!!!!! Ford didn't want to deal at all on the price, saying they may actually have a shortage of trucks in the near future until production comes back to pre-recession numbers. I was going to my local Chevy dealership, until I saw a Charlie Melacon sign on their lot.

Besides, I drove my dad's Ram 1500 the other day and it has 235K miles. Other than brakes, tires, and a fuel filter, he hasn't done anything to it. NO rattles, squeaks, leaks, or falling apart. Figured something has to be right on them!!!!!!

All dodge trucks get about the same mileage, 4.7, 5.9, or 5.7. Expect about 9 pulling and 13 averaged otherwise.

Nice truck Brian.

Thanks guys! I just ordered the leveling kit for it on ebay for $65 and hopefully will have that done next week.

I thought all the bull about the HEMI was just that - BULL****! - But after 700 miles, I can now say it is a bad MOFO!!!

Shawn Braquet 10-15-2010 05:49 PM

should have got a tundra if you want fuel mileage and hp my tundra with the 5.7 gets 17-19 average with 12 towing a 20' lowboy with 40hp kubota 4wd with front end loader and tiller doing 65 on the hwy with no problem, but i do like the looks of them new dodges, oh and i only paid 23,500 for mine brand new with the double cab(wanted the 6.5 ft bed instead of the crew maxs 5) but now wish i would have forked out the extra cash on the 4wd
