Capitol One is who I use and never had any problems. Their internet banking is very easy to use and alot better than most.

Savings, checking, etc... HSBC has the best savings rate which isn't a whole lot right now...

yak'em-n-stack'em 07-07-2010 08:31 AM

I worked for Hibernia (now Cap 1) in college and now work for Whitney Bank. Both good banks. Both run along the 1-10 corridor from Houston to Florida. Both are publically traded companies.

Most banks offer the same products now a days....free checking, online bill pay, etc......Really depends on what you are looking for or who you know & want to do business with.

ETA - & Whitney is official bank of N.O. Saints

whunter29 07-07-2010 08:54 AM

I am with midsouth and I have no problems with them. I have been with them for 10 years

If you have an I-phone go with Chase. Their app is awesome. It is super easy and you can even make deposits from your phone without going into the bank. You just take a picture of the front and back of the check.

Chase :smokin:

Is it October YET? 07-07-2010 09:43 AM

Capital 1 is based up north. So if you are a Yankee lover then they are for you. Chase or Whitney are the way to go. I use them both and they are very easy to deal with.

simplepeddler 07-07-2010 09:44 AM

I'm a Whitney guy.........
But I own stock in a local bank.

Whitney bought our local bank and it was tough for a while with the changes in personel.

I really liked the old school personal touch, but heck I am not sure any bank has that now.

flyphisher 07-07-2010 09:45 AM

I bank with New Orleans Firemens Federal Credit Union and ASI Fed CU. ATM card from NOFFCU has agreement with Cap One, no atm fees. I like the CU with online banking and bill pay for free. Check into a local Credit Union, the requirements to become a member in many are as simple as living in a Parish they service. I like the personal service, and dealing with local people.

speck-chaser 07-07-2010 09:46 AM

at my bank, I can just fax over the checks and get them to deposit them. THat is a cool app.:grinpimp:

Feesherman 07-07-2010 09:47 AM

Captiol 1 as well. Their checking is a rewards checking account as well.

Go to the App store and update your application. Next time you log in there will be a deposit icon on the bottom. Click it and it will walk you through. They also added a quick pay option which when set up can operate like a paypal account.

Capital One

I've been with them since they were Hibernia...I've never had a problem with them.

My manager at the Ruth St branch is very accessible and so is his staff.

Maybe its the bank...maybe its the people but they are always very very helpful.

mstulb 07-07-2010 12:48 PM

Pay my bills with the Chase app. Usually on the water very very easy... Also transfer money to my sis, mom, or fiancé if they need it. Set up transfer accounts in times of emergency.. Very usefull in desperate times. Also get points off my mrtg with accounts at Chase..

Gerald 07-07-2010 02:16 PM

I have an account with Chase.

The Bank and the computer access and stock trading is good.

But over the ~ 10 years that I have had them.....for the most part, the personal are bad at my branch. I could go on and on about all the problems.....with many different people.

I have not checked in a while to see if another bank offers checking, buying and selling stocks and the ability to transfer between multiple accounts all on the computer. Anyone doing this at there bank on the computer.

Ray 07-07-2010 06:29 PM
