Fishing License Expires

All recreational licenses are valid from the date of purchase and expire on June 30 each year. In addition to other bona fide residency requirements, a Louisiana Driver's License or Louisiana ID Card issued by the Department of Public Safety is required to purchase resident recreational hunting and fishing licenses.
Make sure that you have your new one, it's the 4th of July weekend and you can bet Da Man will be out there. The Coasties will be out and the Sheriff's Dept may even have their breathalizer going. Be careful out there!

Jo-boater 06-30-2010 06:01 PM

Thanks for the reminder, I had totally forgotten it was time to renew.

longsidelandry 06-30-2010 06:02 PM

Thanks for the reminder. I'm glad I got my lifetime hunt/fish combo before this past hunting season. It's nice not to have to worry about renewing and only having to get the duck stamp.

Asterisk-Rich 06-30-2010 06:03 PM

i got a ticket last year on the fourth of july

Ray 06-30-2010 08:09 PM

My hunting/fishing license expires when I expire.
Bestest $500 I ever spended. It already paid for itself.

If you can, you should get a lifetime hunting/fishing license. By far it's the best thing I've ever done as far as hunting and fishing goes.

Yep, I told my wife that as soon as our baby is born I'm buying him or her a lifetime combo license.

They still have to complete the course to be able to hunt alone.

O, didn't that you're from there, woops. So ya'll fishing license runs like our hunting licenses, good for one year from date of purchase?

FREON 07-02-2010 02:19 PM

Nope...In Texas, All Fishing, Hunting, or Combination Licenses expire August 31st every year ( except Lifetime Licenses)

longsidelandry 07-02-2010 02:28 PM

O ok, I don't understand why they don't make it to where everything is good for one year from date of purchase.

In Louisiana fishing and hunting licenses expire on June 30. This is the end of the physical year for Louisiana, so July 1 starts a new year.

It may be that in Texas, there new year starts on September 1.

LPfishnTIM 07-02-2010 04:42 PM

thanks for reminding me, and the boater safety card, that sucks they need to stop changing things for the heck of it. Most these accidents are alcohol related anyway, people need to stop speed boating and drinking at the same time!
