Ok the thread on spiders got me to thinking about what everyones phobia is around here. if I dont list it, just post it up.

I voted for snakes but spiders are right along the side of snakes for me, I can't stand either one of them.

Roaches all the way. I'd rather have a snake in my house.

you and me both. I dont mind anything but roaches.

I voted snakes and they do freak me out, but only if they are poisonous and I am really close to em. If I see them before I get within 10-15 feet its not too bad.

After reading the Stephen King novel, "It" and seeing the movie I will not stay in the same room as a clown.

I put spiders, but mfing hate roaches...spiders just freak me out b/c of potentially being poisonus...

i dont like live snakes, dead snakes, friendly snakes, poisonous snakes, limbs and/or rope that looks like snakes

I voted for spider, but snakes are just as bad in my book. But my biggest fear is rubber bands

I voted for wasps/bees, but my biggest phobia has got to be drowning or suffocating to death... I spend about 60% of my life on the water fishing or at work..

Wasp and bees hurt. The rest ain't ****.

I'm not exactly sure......i should probably go tale to a psychiatrist about it tho.

I think it has something to do with, when I was a kid we used to have rubber band wars with folded up paper. It hurt like a mutha, but I wasnt scared of them, then. After I grew up a little, we stopped playing and then I started noticing everytime I saw someone playing with a rubber band I would kinda freak out and move away silently. Now I just dont even like to be around them.

I used to have to be rushed to the hospital for any kind of insect sting when i was younger. Now just run fever and swell. Wasps are my phobia for sure. Can pick up a black widow spider and not a cringe but a wasp gets in the car with me and I am flipping the truck! I hurt myself more trying to get out of the way more than anything. Every boat I work on the first thing I do is look for wasp nests to kill. Cant stand them buggers!

I cant stand wasp,im allergic to them fuggers. If I get stung by one I have to go the hospital for a shot of I will swell up BAD. I dont care for snakes or spiders either.

Since about 3 weeks ago....mine would be choking to death. Had a REAL bad situation a few weeks back. If I would have been by myself I wouldn't be here right now.

IM the same way.... If a wasp gets close to me the hair on my neck stands up and you can see the "goose bumps" come out on my arms. I will inspect everything i work on in the yard extremely well before i mess with it...

Hot, soapy water will kill the crap out of some wasp...

really not that bad as long as its sharp . got my thumb sliced off by someone then put back on the next 10 months are what was bad!!

On occasion, I will let the king snakes live. That is when I am not so freaked out that I notice what they are, but still don't want to get too close to them.

Spiders definitely but watching someone almost choke to death ranks really high!

mine is elevators, hate those things.

Hands down lightning. Got caught out in the Gulf a couple of years ago in a squall. It went from dead calm, flat seas to all hell breaking loose. We had no choice but to point the boat North and centerpunch the storm. It had to take several years off of my life because I had an elevated heart rate for about one hour. The Good Lord must have decided it wasn't time to take us yet but we didn't know that at the time...

Im afraid of spiders. thats about it. and just like yall said b/c the possibility of them being poisonous. I got bit by a recluse in high school and it left a big hole in my leg. its not bad now.
i like snakes. as long as they arent poisonous, i will try and catch them. used to catch ribbon snakes and king snakes all the time. i also used to have a ball python. talk about used to scare some ppl with "Fred," my python!

Snake story.

About 1996 or so, my friend Bill and I go out to our hunting club lease to start making a clear cut. The club had decided to make a few to grow up briar patches for the deer. We had to cross a 20' wide ditch to get where we were going. There was a logjam of logs and lumber that had washed from I-10 and Laplace that we had been using to get into that section of woods that season. So we go in early, 'bout 7am or so, and get to cutting down trees, and making brush piles to burn at a later date. About 11:30 it's hot as a mother, and we are out of water. We head back to the trucks, and when we get to the logjam, the freaking thing is in the sun, and COVERED with snakes!!! At least 15 or so. We were like, *****!!!!! I had my 9mm with 2 extra mags, Bill had his .44 with 4 speed loaders. At least 2 of the snakes were Cotton Mouths. We opened up on them *****es like it was WW3!!! There were chunks of snake flying all over, and they were doin' the Boot Scoot Boogie trying to get away. I emptied all 3 mags, and Bill shot all but 2 of his rounds. He saved 2 in case there were stragglers!!!

The next weekend, we went out there with 5 gallons of diesel, 2 gallons of gas, and some old motor oil that needed disposing. We doused that log jam with a mixture of that and burnt it. Then we had a few other guys bring us a 25' pipe and welded a piece of 12" wide grate on it and used come alongs to put it in place. Haven't used a log jam to cross anything since.
