What a day! It's funny that I still remember when all of this was coming together. I watched it from another site and saw it develop into what we have today. Pretty cool to see how far the site has come in a year's time!

Last year on Sunday morning, May 3rd, I logged onto www.saltycajun.com. I had hopes and dreams that the site would succeed but, at that time, that's all they were....hopes and dreams. Now, a year later, I realize that those hopes have been exceeded and the dreams have become reality. So many people told Bruce, W and myself that we would never make it......"too much competition", they said. W said we took down one site and started another...all in a week's time. :*****: It's been a great year and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I've met some super doods from saltycajun and am lookin' forward to meeting more of you guys. I'd like to give props to Shaddy, W and Bruce for making this site a contender...not a pretender. Also, to Chip and SULFIGHT for filling the duties as mods. Damn shame, tho.....it took both of 'em to take my place. :rolleyes::smokin: Let's all strive to make this site a place where everybody wants to be. Here's to another great year..........:brew:

Happy Birthday SC...with out this site i would not have met some really good people and had some really good times... I also would accomplish more in a day and not catch as much flack from my gf... so really nothing bad has come out of this......

For me, it has to be W and "the sheep". GEEZ....I still have nightmares from that one.

How about the day that Shaddy and Bruce turned the Texans loose on W? ASR can give you the exact date. :)

One of my fav threads has to be the "Pool Bat" thread. Some of the guys involved in that thread are no longer with us. It might have been due to a heart attack or stroke, or, maybe they just laughed themselves to death. My wife still asks from time to time, "What happened to that window blind?" :rolleyes:

I was at work the day it happened. My cell was goin' nuts. I'm on the phone with Bruce..."Hold on...my other line's beepin". It's Capt D. Then ASR calls. The conversation was all the same. I think somebody told me there were 600+ people online at one time that day.

There is something about www.saltycajun.com that sets it apart from other venues of it's kind. As on other sites, there are great outdoorsmen (some self-proclaimed :rolleyes:) here, but, a unique characteristic of this site is the humor. There are some funny doods here. I'm talkin' keyboard-bustin' humor. From W's sheep to Pox's socks........:rolleyes:

Awesome work guys! The since of community is really what keeps me coming here. Prayers for family member, moral support in tough times, helping a neighbor get out of a bad neighborhood situation...;)

That's it...My favorite on the SC was the way so many folks responded to Shawn B's situation a few months back! It showed a very great side of even greater people!;)

Anybody remember the "poll" that W posted in the Gill Net? When the results came back unfavorable....he deleted the thread. I don't recall the topic. That was back during the good ole days....when W had access to the mod panel.

I'm trying to remember who told me about SC. I jumped ship from LAS and joined in June so I guess a few weeks after yall started. Love this place!
