Weed eater

Looking for a new weed eater. What's the best one out there? Should I go 4 stroke or 2 stroke?

In order of $$; echo ,redmax/shindawa
Stilh is now selling in big box stores which usually means their quality will suffer like all the brands sold there; huskvarna, JD,Toro, ect.
Bought my echo from moss bluff mower and they take care of my service work reasonably.

unless stihl changed carburetor designs id stay away from them...echo, huskvarna & redmax are good ones...My friend owns a small engine shop and had to warranty hundreds o stihl carbs on trimmers.

Shindaiwa. By far. I worked at a small engine/lawn care shop and by far they are the best. And if u could get so lucky as to get your hands on a T270 even better but for whatever reason they discontinued that one. It was the baddest weedeater in the land

Carb died on my 5 yo stilh, replace for $70 + labor or spend $200 on a new echo?

X1000

Shindaiwa for sure, but they are pricey. And that T270 is the Honda 300 of the weedeater world. Can't kill that thing.

I've got Echo 2 stroke ... great weed eater .. also bought from moss bluff mower

bassfisher39 06-02-2013 01:01 PM

Shindaiwa with out a doubt. I been having mine for 7 years now and NO problem what so ever. Never even changed the spark plug. Best out there.

I got a shindaiwa from someone who let theirs sit for 8 years with an empty gas tank. I was able to get it running within 8 pulls! I wouldn't of thought that myself. Put gas in it only.

Echo, in the process of switching all my gear over. Got the weedeater last year and just got the echo back pack blower. Real nice.
