Been about 6 or 7 years since I hunted there, ever since my cousin Guy gave his spot at the lodge. He has a spot near Boone's corner now.

FACT: There is NOT one shred of evidence of changing dates/limits, that is what started this discussion, we will not know until August at the earliest

FACT: You can argue this til you are blue in the face (provide visual graphs derived from scientific data collection) and not one mind will be changed, especially a duck hunters mind:) Duck hunters are worse than deer hunters when it comes to people thinking they know everything (although this race is close with all the 7 year olds that can age deer by the jawbone and tell the age of a deer on the hoof):D

WAY BACK when mallards came to Louisiana. It was almost 70 degrees this entire week. Ducks Unlimited ran out of corn to dump in Missouri and their heater quit running and didn't heat the ponds, the ducks finally made it down:grinpimp:

I got a pretty good idea how limits and seasons are set. Thats why I was asking why on earth we would need a 30 or 45 day season with the numbers how they are right now. If they declined drastically 30 days is fine I don't care. Pretty sure we are gonna end up with a 60 day season again. Guess I should have never brought it up.

This discussion was started because some reporter wrote a story about it in the Lake Charles paper. No one ever anything that this was a for sure thing that was happening right now. Quit arguing with yourself.

Top Dawg 03-20-2012 01:32 PM

Just because there aren't any mallards at someones blind doesnt mean they don't come. Just saying. I see and kill great numbers of mallards every year.

cgoods17 03-20-2012 01:32 PM

Well you're right, we won't know until the may pond counts(which is done in May) and breeding pair counts are done. But we can sure hope for a 30 day season.:)

The population of facepaintin, skybustin, sticker stickin, flappy duck, kazoo playin fools is out of control right now. A 30/3 season will send them back to the golf course.

cgoods17 03-20-2012 01:36 PM

haha no doubt
