Will be arriving Thursday noonish.
The camp is on the water ,bay side But, the water is shallow and unless you have small boat i would rent slip. The tide falls out and your boat could be stuck in the mud.

Dink 05-25-2013 10:48 AM

That's not the probkem Bob. We jyst have too many boats going!

mr crab 05-25-2013 11:03 AM

We are talking bout not bringing the champ. If the water is too bad to fish the gulf in the cat, will there be 4 spots available on bay boats for the Tx crew?

mr crab 05-26-2013 07:56 AM

I talked to dink yesyerday, and was wondering about an official boat count? Who's bringing what?

Dink 05-26-2013 08:17 AM

My crew has 4

mr crab 05-26-2013 09:10 AM

We bringing an offshore cat for sure, just trying to figure out if we need to haul a bay boat as well.

Dink 05-26-2013 10:18 AM

Travis is bringing one. And as far as I know, that's all

latravcha 05-26-2013 09:21 PM

I'm bringing the blazer. If y'all need poogies let me know. I can get them cheaper than most can. I can't make it till Friday but y'all have to pass right by my office on the way to GI and I can meet y'all.

Dink 05-27-2013 06:13 AM

20lb boxes?

mr crab 05-27-2013 09:15 AM

How much for the pogey?

southern151 05-27-2013 09:21 AM

Pogey is pretty cheap in Pierre Part. Most boxes there are 35 and 50 lbs. They use em for crawfish bait. They're much bigger than those at Bridgeside Marina though.

southern151 05-27-2013 09:23 AM

Just make sure they come out of the bait well this year! LOL!

eman 05-27-2013 05:07 PM

mr crab 05-27-2013 05:35 PM

eman 05-27-2013 06:35 PM

Hell powder. Chipotle made w/ habaneros

mr crab 05-28-2013 08:10 AM

Sounds tough. I bet a little dab of that will heat up a whole pot of chili

45lb box $18 when I baited the traps 2 weekws ago.

Dink 05-28-2013 02:55 PM

Ill take at least one box!

eman 05-28-2013 04:43 PM

Okay, I am bringing enough Pulled pork , buns, wicked beans and some of the best slaw you will ever stuff in ya pie hole for one big meal. We need to discuss the rest of the meals??? I figure breakfast everyone is on their own. Will have enough left over PP an fixins for sammies during the day. We need to discuss meals for the other two nights.
If everyone wants to chip in we can talk about doing crawfish boil? Or we can buy crabs n shrimp for boil? Or if everyone wants to just wing it on their own we can do that too? We just need to get it settled so that we know what type of cooking supplies we need to bring??? Time is getting short and we need to get this figured out.
Oh yea i am bringing da cheese too.

southern151 05-28-2013 05:37 PM

I figure we'll stop on the way in and load up on a good bit of shrimp. for one meal.

Dink 05-28-2013 06:56 PM

Ill put crab traps out Thursday when I get there and pull them periodically. If we don't have enough more can be bought. Crawfish are too hard this late

Dink 05-28-2013 06:57 PM

I do pastries and sandwichs breakfast and lunch so I don't have to crap on the boat

mr crab 05-28-2013 07:22 PM

as far as the food, i aint too picky. i will chip in on a shrimp boil for sure. thats pretty simple too. i just don't wanna commit to cooking since i don't know what the fishing schedule is looking like.

Why would you want to crap on your Boat?????

T-Bone 05-29-2013 07:46 AM

Dink how many traps you bringing? Shrimp and crab boil sound good. I am gonna bring some beef melt and do some hand lining.

mr crab 05-29-2013 07:48 AM

hey T-Bone, you bringing your bay boat?

T-Bone 05-29-2013 07:51 AM

Wasn't planning on it. Are you bringing yours? I saw you mention someone bringing a cat.

mr crab 05-29-2013 08:04 AM

prolly jus gonna bring one boat. if the weather looks good just the cat. if the wind is gonna keep us in the bay, prolly just the champ. if it looks iffy we'll bring both. Just hate the added expense and headache of towing two boats that far.

Dink 05-29-2013 09:23 AM

Guess ill bring a wakeboard for some downtime fun

No problem. Let me know about what time you will be passing through the morgan city area so I can meet you.

eman 05-29-2013 06:44 PM

chicken necks or turkey necks work better than melt for crabs JMHO

I have actually had really good success with the melt while hand lining. Do you think leg quarters would be better or should I stick with the necks?

latravcha 05-29-2013 08:34 PM

All I use in my crawfish traps is Poggie and I also bait crab traps with them but I would rather use a harder bait like mullet.

I have a Chest freezer for bait. I keep all my trout, bass, carfish heads and skins and bait with that. Just don't use reds or drum, they will not go in the trap. Had an old man tell me it is because reds and drum eat trout makes since.

southern151 05-29-2013 09:45 PM

I'm bringing 4 crab pots with me. Yall can run em! I hate crabs alive and dead!

gasman5.0 05-31-2013 10:39 AM
