I mean if you people don wanna kill em then dont. But don try and shove ur ethics on others. I mean y aren't u worried about duck genetics? How many poor young, 1 year old spoonbills have you kilt?

Jts don't carry lunker bass fillets

redaddiction 03-16-2016 05:41 PM

Tens of millions of fish slaughtered every year so their filets can be sold in grocery stores. That's Ok. One poor dude who gets to fish a few times a year catches and keeps a big bass and post about it online somewhere..... Get scolded that he is a terrible sportsman. Lol

BassYakR 03-16-2016 06:02 PM

They dont sell bass fillets

But if this thread would have been someone's fishing report we would not have allowed the negative comments. Just to make that clear.

Yup, and we thank ya'll for that.

I've heard that keeping trout between 18-24" is actually more harmful to the spawn than keeping a 30" sow.

So, been having a camp up here (Toledo Bend) for 20 yr's won't cut a fish over 4 - 9 lbs. because I don't have to. Still end up with plenty for fish fries and personal use, catch a trophy, 10 lbs. plus I'm gonna mount it! Got 2 on the wall now 9/15 & 9/8. Hoping for the lake record, guess where it's going! Some of ya'll are totally missing the point in my situation. BassLivesMatter, unless it's a mount, of 10 lbs. plus, otherwise we're gonna release it, at our boathouse in our cove.

if you catch one over 10 pounds on Toledo remember you can take it to several weigh sites and get a free replica, and the bass gets to live another day!

Top Dawg 03-17-2016 05:21 AM

What pisses me off about toledo bend is all them 13"ers you catch. I've been doing my part to cull them genetics. Every fish I catch under 14" gets thrown on the bank.

So, the original poster of this thread wanted some tips on fishing Lacassine....
I believe he deserves an apology for the turd that this has become.

BassYakR 03-17-2016 06:48 AM

No one is going to give info on Lacassine.... it stays tight lipped...

jpeff31787 03-17-2016 07:34 AM

I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy catching big fish, so why not throw the big ones back. It gives you and others a better chance at catching a fish of a lifetime. That's why I say if you're hungry for bass keep the smaller ones but throw the big girls back. It's tough for those fish to live long enough to get that big, so once you find one, let her go get bigger since she's seem to have it figured out.

T-Boo 03-17-2016 07:41 AM

I used to drag dark-colored larger worms and lizards across the lily pads, real slow and letting them sit periodically. The bass can see the silhouette of the lure against the backdrop of the sun above.
Frogs...a gold spoon with a pork chunk also work.
Folks do a lot of sight fishing.
