I could take pictures but all your gonna see is a rod blank because the micro guides are so small.

Salty 01-07-2012 11:52 PM

So, if I was to glue 20 more guides on a 7 1/2' Cenderi and slam my truck door on it...the extra guides will protect it from breaking?

Lmao

LPfishnTIM 01-08-2012 12:03 AM

question? a falcon cara micro has 13 guides, you think they know how to make a rod?

LPfishnTIM 01-08-2012 12:04 AM

it also cost $225.00 and the rods I get cost $160.

bayouchub 01-08-2012 12:05 AM

Theres a difference in knowing how to make a rod and how to sell a rod.

It wasn't designed to be "good". It was supposed to be funny. ;)

PUREBAY2200 01-08-2012 12:11 AM

Well, that's because it's got $200 worth of guides on it.

Yes, IMO, Falcon knows how to build a rod.

yeah, and I'm sold on micro guides and spiral rods and eva foam split grips! why? cuz thats what I've been using and its been working for me. know wanna argue about why I spend more and use flourocarbon line?

bayouchub 01-08-2012 12:17 AM

Im not arguing, just sayin the reason falcon and duckett put so many micros on a rod is because there are people out there that think "the more guides the better."

PUREBAY2200 01-08-2012 12:19 AM

Not gonna argue... But xplain the benefits of flouro line.

I am also sold on micros, split grips, and fluoro line in certain applications. Not so much spiral wraps and eva. I was just saying its not necessary to put that many micros on a rod. I dont care what mid-level manufacturers are doing it.

PUREBAY2200 01-08-2012 12:31 AM

Ooooooo ok.
But rod companies gotta sell new rods..... And if Rods never break people won't buy more.... Guess that's y the big companies haven't gone to spiral??
Lol
Jk

I just flexed all my rods.... None rolled to the side......
I c what ole boy is talking about.... But I think it's kinda trying to "re invent the wheel"

LPfishnTIM 01-08-2012 12:31 AM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&fe...&v=FqxBcjB_LQw defense of micro guides. what they do, Technology explained.

Salty 01-08-2012 12:33 AM

Seriously now Tim, what the guy in the vid says about the rods twisting makes "cents" to me, but, can you really see the conventional rod "twist" when he pulled down on the tip? :shaking:

Another thing, after 9,000,000 years of the world fishing without this spiral crap......why is it so critical now?
