There are places to stay in Hackberry. Still a 30 minute drive. Used to be a campground, of sorts, in Holly Beach about a 15 minute drive, I may have a place to park 3 or 4 of them, not sure of hook ups for everyting Will find out something this weekend.

Code for waiting to see if she'll let me go...........

Holly Beach has camper spots with hook ups. It is at the old Lagneaux's RV Park.
Not sure who has it now, but it is still there.

Martin Beach is West of Holly Beach. Go West and after you pass all the gas plants,
look left. There only 2 roads to the left after you pass the plants.
One is an oil field road that goes to a small processing plant. It used to be called
Philips Road, named for Philips Petroleum, but the processing plant has been bought
and sold so many times, I am not sure if the name is still the same.

Where is this located.....how do you get there?

Ray 07-07-2010 09:11 PM

It is on the second road South of Hwy. 82, right in the center of downtown Holly Beach. It is easy to find. But the name has changed. Can't remember what it is now named.

So if you were coming south from Sulphur, when you get to the coast, go east on Hwy 82 for ~ 1 mile?

Just trying to help out the guys that don't know the area.

Ray 07-07-2010 09:21 PM

Yes, when you go South on 27 from Sulphur, you hit Hwy 82, go East towards Cameron. You will be in downtown Holly Beach. It is about 2 blocks on your right after you turn East towards Cameron.
There was once a Martin Trailer Park right across the street from the road to the beach party, but it was wiped out for Rita. Not sure if it is still there or not.
I can check it out, but it will be a couple weeks before I can get home.

I decided I'm going to scratch the softball tourney and go to this function. It's obvious some security is needed. Plus, Jordan, if you goin, bring me some bait sukka.

Jordan 07-07-2010 09:44 PM

U need swimps ? I prolly won't be attending this function. I'll see how work goes.

ShadMan 07-07-2010 09:46 PM

That's what sick days are made for, Jordan. Don't tell me you use them when you're sick?? :p

Jordan 07-07-2010 09:49 PM

She knows how I roll. Shad, I gotta be there if no one is there to cover. Looks good on my evaluations.

Asterisk-Rich 07-07-2010 09:50 PM

ha ha, martin beach should be on fire if the weather is right! we wore the trout out over there last year. top water early in the morning and a special little chartreuse bait for when the topwater bite dies! Dear Lord, please give us a few days of North winds to make this ideal!

Finfeatherfur 07-07-2010 09:57 PM

Guys, I will be in Key West for Florida lobster season and some diving, but here is a contact for a small RV park in Constance Beach:

Palms RV - 337-794-4474
or 337-540-2878

Please let him know Bryan Foti sent you and it is perfect for this type of weekend. Close enough to Mae's Beach, but far enough to leave the BS behind. Now, it only has 4-5 spots available, but it is closer than Holly Beach. I also have a number in my truck to a guy that has one RV spot and 2 cabins in Constance Beach, but it is in my truck. I will post in the morning. Hope this helps!
