This again.

Well I hate to say it but I am going to sign up this year. I really have zero use for the damn CCA and all of their BS. It seems like it is made up of a bunch of frat boys who miss the circle jerks they had in college so they started up a club to relieve the itch. With that being said, if I had signed up last year I would have won a boat. Its a Nautic Star so I wasn't completely heart broken but its still a free boat. I know in the past I have talked a lot of smack about the CCA so I wanted to go on record here and say that I am a hypocrite and I know it. So there will be no need to call me out for being one when I win this year. It was easy to stand on principle before I actually caught a fish that would have won it. Now not signing up seems pretty stupid considering how often I fish. So I will sign up and draw the line there. I have no interest in going to the banquets and all the other Beautiful People congregations. My hypocrisy only goes so far.

I'm close to being in the same boat as you. I look at my monetary contribution strictly as an entry fee. Plenty of people enter tournaments for a chance to win something and could care less what the dollars go to. CCA may not do much (or any) good with the money, but I don't think they use it for evil. At some point in time, we have all GIVEN money to organizations (not knowing at the time) that did use it for bad. Disclaimer, I have no "scientific" data to back this up. This is strictly my opinion.

Limiting your fishing opportunities based entirely on someone's opinion is evil.

CCA still won't get any of my money, and I hope I catch a tagged redfish, I'll cook it with the tag still in it and send CCA a picture of me eating my way around the tag.

Feesherman, nothing you have stated above has "Limited your fishing opportunities"

Limiting your fishing oppurtunities would be only allowing a certain number of boats on the lake on a give day.

CCA did push for the lower triple tail, and speck limits. There's a very big difference between being allowed to go and being allowed to harvest what you wish.

B-Stealth 04-28-2016 07:32 PM

I'm paying this year, I need some new stickers for my truck.

I lost a couple off my front bumper last year when I smoked a big ol Silver Lab. Damn dog knocked off my Yeti sticker and a couple LED's as well.

Do you have a link to a site where we can see proof of that, just asking, where did you obtain those numbers? Are those hard facts are just an estimation on your part? Your the Math Geek, show us the math.

He has the numbers and has posted them previously when this topic first came up a few years ago.

Back limit from 25 to 15 with zero evidence to support it

So they took away opportunities for me to come in with 100 trout instead of 60

Not saying he's wrong, if he has a financial disclosure from CCA to back that up, then the proof is in the numbers. How much of Fondren's millions was dedicated to Texas CCA? UT football star, Humble oil heir, CCA founder, his money, does what he wants with it. What are those facts?
