My change and weight loss was minor compared to yours, but the habits were difficult to change none the less. It was so hard to change the way I ate, and make the necessary time for exercise. Now, I guess it all became routine like you said in your blog - I can't imagine going back to those ways, and am actually doing more active things in addition to the workouts I had so many excuses to skip in the beginning, and "never" had time for.

Keep it up, and keep the blog posts coming - they are motivating!

Thanks Goooh... appreciate the feedback... To me the whole point of going the surgery route was to give me a huge jump start and then finish the race through exercise... (let me be honest at 327 lbs i wasn't able to exercise much of nothing but my mouth)

It's always best if you can do these types of things yourself...
Kudos to you for recognizing how important good health is to you long term and doing something about it.... rather than wait till things got drastic like i did.

Surgery was really my last option... most of my adult life i was able to hang out in the 210-240 range... which for someone 5'9" isnt skinny.. but is still "reasonable".... Once i had diabetes and had to start taking insulin... I just could not control my weight anymore.

Doing better than me.

I had gastric sleeve surgery on April 1. Started at 308. As of today I am at 271. Actually like the slower weight loss. Feeling better. Have more energy. Now if I can just get my damn hip to quit hurting.

Man today started off great, spent the morning at a training session working on getting into federal employment... that went great. Then spent some good time with the kids, running around doing errands etc... Then all of a sudden had to deal with some nonsense and gave me a bad attitude... Was almost so pissed off that i seriously thought about skipping the workout tonight...

But i'm glad that i persevered and did the workout anyway... seems to have gotten the piss and vinegar right outa me... :)

Good work, that early morning workout is so hard to do. But the trade off is having the best feeling days possible - it really helps to boost the energy and actually makes my head feel clear and crisp. Do you find the same?

If you would have told me this before i started doing them i would have called you three kinds of a fool.... :)

but you are absolutely right... the days i work out, and then go to work... i feel more energy all day long and am still going strong when i get out of work.

the days i dont work out, by the end of the day i am ready to fall asleep before i even make it out of the office...

Now... come 8 o'clock at night... don't get between me and bed.. :rotfl:

Whoa! A year already? Great work, I can't believe that after pic.

The fact that you're off of all pre-op meds is unreal
