I have never understood this. Alcohol is alcohol. Drunk is drunk. One whiskey is all good but bourbon causes you to fight? It makes no sense.

Tequila makes you really stupid. I can vouch for that...

If one bourbon tastes a lot better, you drink a lot more.
The more you drink, the stupider you get....
That's how.

I love Crown and 7. But if I am pulling a late night, I drink Crown and Vault energy drink.

The wife and I drink Jim Beam & Diet Cokes by the 1/2 gallon like some people go through milk. Cheap, smooth, and will take the edge off of a bad day quick. Now, if it's a "customer" trip, then I like Knobb Creek. I think Knobb Creek is overpriced, but it is smooth and I can also sip it on the rocks.

Don't tell a coonass he can't do something when he is drunk...

The wife cut me off of Tequila about 15 yrs ago (10 feet tall and bullet proof)!!!
Good ole Jack is what I switched to, with no problems...

Garfish 02-04-2011 03:30 PM

Jack Black cause it gets the job done.

I have to say 1 vodka is not the same as another just as 1 tequilla is not the same as another tequilla and 1 bourbon is not the same as another bourbon. Now if you r drowning the bourbons w/ soda....then of course....that defeats the purpose of the make & its distinct flavors....but if you let the flavors savor on your tongue "alone" for a bit....and try another ....you can tdifferentiate big time. As for tequilla...I love tequilla....but not the cheap tequillas......(they taste like rubbing alcohol....which kills the true agave flavor)....an old man taught me how to drink tequilla while on a trip in Mexico and it holds true for all liquors...(except the chilling part) chill the tequilla....then serve it alone in a shot glass let the tequilla sit on your tongue for a second or two to experience the flavor ....then let it slowly run down your throat...No burn and super smooth. One thing i notice in alcohol ...is you get what you pay for (in regards to flavor and hangover) some of my favorite tequillas are cabo wabo reposado, patron reposado, and don eduardo anejo...as far as vodka and for the buck is tito's from austin...distilled six times which is truely the most important factor in vodka. O...and I love me some makers too As far as tequilla liqueor...try Agavero! Trust me...its awesome Used to only be able to get it in Mexico. I believe you can find it here now but its rare.

This reminded me of a bet I won from a coworker in Atlanta in 2009...LSU v. GA....We each bet dusty bottles in our bar....for me it was a dusty bottle of Southern Comfort....for him McCallan (!) cause he gave up Scotch for some stupid reason....so I won a bottle of McCallan and brought it back with me the next time I was in Atlanta....I posted this video as my message back that I was enjoying sweet victory...

Try finding out the name of that rum. Wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

eman 02-05-2011 01:43 PM

If you like a great rum try , Ron Medellin rum. Made in columbia.
Thanks Corey!!!

southern151 02-05-2011 02:06 PM

You're welcome, Eman! And, it's actually called Ron de Medellin(pronounced mede-jean). The translation is Rum of Medellin. It's a fine Colombian rum! They also make some great beer down there that I haven't been able to find in the states. It's the type of beer that most of couldn't drink more than a 6 pack of!
