quick queston on the citica reels- if i oil my (idk what its called) the little bar i guess after each trip would that help??
|
every reel i have gets washed with the water hose and dawn after saltwater use. from abu winches to penn 80's. once a year i take them home and break them down completely and grease. never have any problems. i use the penn grease. and for the baitcast i use the penn oil. i also replace the bearings in my penns every 5 years even if they are still good.

If you see any dirt or grit looking stuff.....clean it with a qtip or old tooth brush. Rubbing alcohol can be used for cleaning if needed. Cleaning the drag system is a little more involved.....but fairly easy to do. Just be sure that when you take each piece off, you put then back just like they came off. Place the pieces on some paper in order that you take them off.....then just put them back the same way. |
