Thank you they have the best jug running in the area. Coldest draft, if you like draft. I used to leave a nice portion of my paycheck there.
Fool hunts, and fishes to much to play with video games, he's a good outdoorsman. |

Baton Rouge area food.
Mexican / south american: Serritas on bennington, Actual true mex/SA . Also it's a buffet. I'd go eat the buffet just to eat the tamales.
Boudin: Nowhere but Jerry Lees, (better than dons). andoullie: I drive all the way to best stop in scott La. to get andoullie and tasso. Pretty much everything else, Right here at home. anyone that knows the wife and i Knows we can cook and love to see folks faces when they sit down to our table.:grinpimp: |

Thats my marsh boat.... I also have an aluminum one that i set up a trolling motor on the flat back transom. I lock the motor with a lock screw and sit in the front and drive the boat by leaning...usually do that when im picking up decoys, or frogging by myself, or picking up ducks on the pond.. |

Try the boudin @ the Mowata store its something special, good sausage too.
|
I used to eat at some place in Berwick and I can't remember the name, but they hands down had the best fried poke chop with white beans and rice I've ever eaten. It was right before the bridge near the Walmart off 90.
Those stuffed deboned chickens with crawfish dressing from Heberts in Maurice were always a stop and get item on my way home...course that was a few years back. |
Some of my favorites that I miss and try to have when I come in town are Darrel's Special w/ Jalapeno Mayo, Paronia's Cajun Roast Beef, Leonards Boudin is hands down the best in Lake Charles & Famous Foods soft and spicy cracklins they will light you up but damn they are good. My parents own a boudin and sausage kitchen in Kinder, LA called Chadeaux's. It is the first gas station on the left after you pass the John Deere dealer on HWY 165 in Kinder. If you stop in you have to get their smoked boudin (the best I have ever had) and grab about 10 packs of their beef jerkey because the first couple will be gone shortly after you open them. One other I forgot about is Cain's extra toast and extra Cains sauce. Damn they have some good eats back home.
