If you are implying that Adams is one of the guys here to rob spots, that's rediculous .. Don't even know him personally, but its pretty common knowledge that he is one of the best

And how the heck does asking people not to post spots, mean you are trolling SC to steal someone's spot???

Msucowpoke51 08-12-2013 11:36 AM

I could care less who posts what or where, so I'm not really on a side, but it just doesn't make any sense

I didn't accuse Adams because he is on here regularly, but some cats came out of the woodworks like they are constant lurkers - he didn't give a spot, he didnt even post the name of the thousands of acres of public water in the title. Are you serious right now?

I'm never too serious .. I was just wandering, I see what you mean about others coming out lol ... I agree with that

I am no scientist or mathematician, but if you are telling me that by telling a group of people about a good day of fishing, i am going to bring enough boats to fish out Big Lake. My response to that would have to be, You are a complete and total retard with a case of little man syndrome and a case of butt hurt bc you get out fished by non locals. Big Lake has been fished hard long before this or any other site had even existed. And if you have yet to figure out that the lake goes in cycles of great years and ok years on its own you know jack. Now if you start talking about a closed off lake of course it can be over fished, but BL is connected to the gulf and if you haven't noticed fish come in and out of the gulf into BL at their own free will. You show how we can out fish the gulf by telling people that there are fish in it!!!
Go Ahead I'll Wait..........................

^ I'm with you but the I creased pressure does make it hard on weekends. When people are running all over you spots. Those people aren't catching many fish but def hurts the bite.

fish do not bite on Saturdays.....Thats a fact!!! but I can live with one day a week of bad fishing and I try not to book trips on Sat. and will give a discount on guys who want to fish during the week because I can promise them a limit or close to it everyday

Clampy 08-12-2013 01:30 PM

I'm sure most guys that fish a lot notice how easy it is on a Monday compared to sat. Sat " W" is right. More fun to sit at Heberts and watch people launch.

inchspinner 08-12-2013 01:34 PM

It works on WEEKENDS TOO! Lol

bgizzle 08-12-2013 01:45 PM

That's the only time I fish. On Saturdays that is. When there is so many ppl that its a race to the next reef. Gets the adrenaline flowing ya know. Then I pull out the surf pole with Alabama rigged live shrimp and then they know they in trouble. 3 casts 1 limit! Boom

Goooh 08-12-2013 02:03 PM

This just in, there are no more sacalait or bass in toledo bend due to fishing reports.

"W" 08-12-2013 02:35 PM

Does Internet put more pressure on any lake? Yes it will because its easier to view but on side note

Fishing Shows, books, magazines and " making Big Lake a Trophy lake" puts more than a fishing website!!

Funny how some complain about crowds but film fishings shows every chance they can!!

"I turned down a fishing show this year that would of been filmed in Turners when the bite was stupid good but way to many land marks for me "

So its a new age of fishing and all you can do is avoid Saturdays during the summer if you can

getonfish 08-12-2013 02:46 PM

I fished Sabine this weekend and didnt do nearly that good. Those damn ladyfish were hitting me every time my bait hit the water. Had a decent day but didnt kill them like that.

slappin 08-12-2013 02:53 PM

This wouldn't be an issue if 90% of ppl had some boat educate, which is not the case, that's why people are upset because instead of just the yahoos that are already going to be around to not give a damn about a boat that is on fish, you have more idiots thats are going to be running around not worrying about anyone but themselves, running over people who have been waiting patiently for a bite to happen..no one is worried about getting out fishes by anyone on this site this much I promise you, it's all about having to deal with more jackasses that would never have been there without this site ...that is all

fish bowling
Smoking weed in a closed and small space, with the intent of not letting the smoke escape, to recycle the smoke in a sence, as in a car for example.

All I gotta say is what...8-9000 members and only a handful post reports = big lake packed on weekends with IDIOTS that will run right in between 2 boats sharing a bite. How do I know? Experience. Had this happen many times...

Please explain W

Goooh 08-12-2013 05:42 PM

Was Bl packed on the weekends before SC? Say, before 2009?

I bet it was, and I bet the bay was too. The bay is the slowest saltwater estuary in the state, you can go on any weekend in the summer when the salinity is zero and there will be a crap ton of people regardless of the reports.

It's summer, people love the water, BL is small and has a large outlying population to satisfy. Delete SC and nothing will change.

How bout the winter when good reports are being posted and the weather is nasty? Does this variable support the gang rush to the water? I'd bet not.

The general consensus when I was growing up was that big lake was always on, this was before Internet forums... And this bleeds into tx and to the east, that place is no secret and never has been.

Bdub 08-12-2013 05:47 PM

What I'm saying is post a report saying "limited out in turners" and you will have twice as many people fishing that area come the weekend. Pretty much goes for any spot..****load of people watch the reports and use them to go fishing. Do I post reports every time I fish? No...because of this.

I agree.. a report should never tell where u catch fish, I keep my spots to myself and now wait to post reports late because lately I Have notice that i fish and post report that night to find someone who saw me that day fishing my spot next am

Fisherman have become lazy and crumb snatchers, if you ever fish with me you know I will find my own fish and hardly ever fish around crowds

redaddiction 08-12-2013 05:54 PM

All the OP said was "Sabine". This got way blown out of proportion! Oh wait.......I'm on Salty Cajun. Never mind!

That's my point, and it wasn't even in the subject line. So what are reports supposed to look like? What would make the due hards happy? Maybe the influx is good, it makes it more of a challenge - y'all make it look too easy!

"Caught +/-1 Cynoscion Nebulosus at or below 38 degrees N Latitude on or before 8/12/2013. Reluctant to post photograph due to risk of Salty hackers accessing proprietary geotags."

agreed.

How about take an oppurtunity to educate people. This website is a tool for teaching as well, not just posting reports and locations.

I will say this, W's thread every year is great for tips on fishing birds. Will all people practice what is preached...probably not because we are humans.

just as was said above, times have changed. The available lines of credit make it easier than ever to afford a boat, thus increasing your numbers of "fisherman" dramitically. Adaptation is key, but posting a report without giving up your "secret spot" is certianly incouraged. Lets be honest I do not fish nearly as much as i'd like so its fun to see whats happening out there. just 2 cents

MathGeek 08-12-2013 07:25 PM

Hey peeps.

The contest is with the fish. I never mind a little company, as long as everyone stays out of casting distance.

Share the water. Share the fish. Share the times. Let those poor suckers in FL, MS, and TX fight over the few fish they have.

You in the sportsman's paradise.
