Seen those too, call a "rocker":D They make for a fun ride also.
Saw a few boats with a hook towards the front. Ran ok till you put anything in the front, then they plow.

Check the bottom of your hull. It may be hooked from use. You can beat some of the hook out, start by removing the hook right in front of the engine.
