No problem man save your gas! Me and a buddy got tickets to the game Saturday and will head that way Saturday morning/afternoon.

scott craft 09-12-2012 10:02 PM

Is there a SaltyCajun discount? :P

SpeckWrangler 09-12-2012 10:04 PM

I wish man. Hell I don't even get a discount on phones. I will be saving my pennies like everyone else

papap 09-12-2012 10:04 PM

If you go by the touchdown lot. Stop and say hi. Will be in a Solera motorhome.

I figured that. From what I understand most carriers can't discount the iPhone anyway. Of course I'm wanting something besides an iPhone.

I'm interested in Windows Phone 8. The GS3 is very nice though, I probably would get that over the iPhone.

As a side note Apple says the 5 can browse eight hours on LTE. That is quite impressive if accurate. If the Verizon version can do that I might be tempted.

SpeckWrangler 09-12-2012 10:20 PM

Yea that is the one thing I would like android to improve on is battery life. I have used for or five different droids and the only one with decent battery is the note and gs3. Windows 8 is promising but they have got to get more apps.

I have an HTC Rezound and it sucks the battery, especially running around Lake Charles and using LTE. On the other hand it's nice watching hd YouTube with no buffering.

SpeckWrangler 09-12-2012 10:25 PM

Yea LTE is sweet.

scott craft 09-12-2012 10:29 PM

Any word on AT&T getting it around here?

SpeckWrangler 09-12-2012 10:35 PM

I haven't heard anything for a while. It's as close as baton rouge. I know it is our main focus but there were still a lot of major cities we ha to cover.

scott craft 09-12-2012 10:38 PM

I was surprised Verizon got it here as soon as they did. We got it before Lafayette.

bjhooper82 09-12-2012 10:45 PM

Please excuse my lack of knowledge fellas, but what is LTE?

That's 4G. AT&T has some stuff between 3G and LTE they refer to as 4G, but on Verizon they have 3G or LTE. It's very fast.

Top Dawg 09-13-2012 02:16 PM

This would be cool

Crawdaddct 09-13-2012 02:26 PM

SpeckWrangler 09-13-2012 03:27 PM

Yes it is called hspa+ it's is three times faster than standard 3G. The reason you get the speeds you do on lte is there is not as much congestion on those networks like there is on 3G. This conversation 2 years from now and those lte speeds will slow down

HAHA Go buy a Yellowfin next time she gets something!

According to Verizon LTE speeds should be 8-10 Mb/second download on a loaded network. That's still faster than a lot of home connections. I'm sure the same applies to AT&T in LTE areas.
