we are on our eighth year.
About 2/3 acre surface area. We overstocked and have yet to recover....just for thoughts.......
One acre, properly stocked will support roughly 100 pounds of bass.
10 10 pounders or 100 one pounders....
coopernose bluegill have been great.
threadfine minnows to start, then the blue gill, then the bass.
Southern is right 4-5 surface acres for sacalait.
depth has little to do with it.....6 feet average is good.
fertilizer is important.
did I mention www.pondboss.com??
invaluable.
google Bob Lusk.....he is the man on ponds in the gulf coast area.
LSU is good...pondboss is great

You sure? 208' x 208' x 4' = 1 acre of water

Birds spread trash fish. They eat eggs at one place and then come to your pond and poo in it. Supposedly they (eggs) also get on birds feet and get redistributed. Experts are warning fisherman to get all the water out of their bilge when they fish from lake to lake. Carrying bad seed...

too shallow could be a problem because of weed control.
enough depth so the sun does not reach the bottom.
yes SURFACE acre. That is how I heard it.
Southern, you guys are welcome anytime. Just take everything out under 12' on the bass and all bream
