Didn't watch the fight but from what I have read it was a straight up azz whopping by Holly. Good for her.

I think Meisha Tate will probably get the next shot at Holly Holm... and will probably beat her for a deserved reign at the top of the UFC.

My thoughts on the Rousey/Holm fight:
I was a little curious why Rousey would go in trying to bang with a Boxer that has shown little ability to grapple in the octagon. She wasn't even trying to take her down in that first round (a couple of impromptu judo throw attempts is not trying)... she just kept chasing her around the ring getting her eye dotted with that straight left. I give Holm credit for a great game plan but you don't have to be a real strategist to tell Holm to stay on the feet against Rousey.

That was some legit striking skills. I appreciate the ground game but I love watching a skilled striker. Ronda got schooled. As previously mentioned you can't win them all. Nobody stays on top forever.

Rousey was already planning to take some time off to work on a side project (a movie), but she's a fierce competitor and I'm sure she'll be back in a big way. I'd also wager that before she comes back she's going to do a lot of work on her stand up boxing game. It would be easy to bash on her for doing movies and side projects, but MMA fighters aren't paid anything like boxers so I can't blame her for cashing in however she can.

Holmes fought a great fight, it will be interesting to see if she continues to win.
