I wouldn't avoid 2 cylinders just for that, its just a design difference and its a choice for speed and power over longer life (only talking about an extra year or two on average I bet) so the way I look at it I wouldn't let number of cylinders make up my mind.
as to that motor, its hard to say, if that's all that's wrong with it it could be a great deal but the key is "if that's all that's wrong with it"
I think overall you shouldn't buy motors over 5 years old if for no other reason then parts availability and corrosive wear and buildup is a big concern.
