Have thousands of ducks and geese around mermentau. Lots of teal and spoonies but also a Bunch of mallards and pintail. Went check out some marsh today around grand lake area and got some blinds ready and it was covered in ducks also. Tons of mallards.

Sounds good. I can't get out there till late morning Friday. I'm thinking it should have some birds around. We had our fair share in the first split

Teal have never showed back up. That's about 50-75% of our birds usually

I bet that area north of kaplan is holding birds....especially geese.

I'll pass by your place tomorrow if I have time and tell you what I see

Tell us all. We all might go there Saturday. I hope he has room!

They have all left from here. We have 6 inches of ice and no floodwater. If our rivers were out it would be stupid right now!! Wishing the best of luck to y'all. It will be stupid here whenever we finally thaw.

Sucks I'll be going into it blind this weekend, wont be getting to grand chenier til Friday evening, I'll be lucky if I have enough daylight to gas up the boat but I got a good feeling we got some birds down there...Heard there was plenty of water in little chenier so looks like they may be in the potholes. I got a good feeling about it though.

DUCKGOGETTER 12-12-2013 02:14 AM

That's my only worry is too much water where i'm at and that means diving duck city

Gottogo49 12-12-2013 07:26 AM

Lots of gray ducks in Big Pasture.

That's a good sign. If they have them south they should have them north hopefully
