I haven't targeted them, but I always keep an eye out for floating debris and always check it when I do find some. So far this year I have caught zero, but I usually see about 2 a trip from june-august, and I go just about every weekend.

Just go to google scholar and find some scientific publications on whatever subject you wish to have knowledge upon.
