Hey guys how ever or where ever you buy oysters do not buy them unless properly tagged. For one its the law. Personally i dont trust fish peddlers. I will only buy from a a seafood retailer. What is a couple of bucks worth with all the health issues involved. This time of the year is not for oysters any way. If they are not properly handled from reef to your table you can get sick or even worse end up in the hospital.

Not wanting to hyjack a thread.................but please - pretty please, do your research on oyster biology! Harvesting of oysters actually expands the reef and is very healthy for the ecosystem of oysters!!!! If all these years of oyster harvest was hurting the oyster industry in Louisiana, how is will still have them?

I don't doubt harvesting ( with tongs ) is good but a ton of boats dredging can't be good but I'm dumb. Please enlighten
