What's the forecast - worried about all the fresh water coming down the ship channel from the drain off. Thoughts?

No graphs/charts/ "W"

you seriously think its going to be that bad W? If its going to be muddy like that, i don't think we are going to go. Do you ever fish by the LNG plant by the Turning Basin? I know I've asked you before, but we used to always see people fishing there. Wonder if you've been or heard anything about the area lately

I dont know how much rain they got?? Its a hard call to make....

Ray 10-31-2009 12:25 AM

We got a buttload of rain today.
Yesterday, north and central La. got a lot of rain.
I called Jordan north of Deridder, my niece south of Deridder, my Dr. in Houston and my friends in Beaumont to see when the rain would hit us yesterday. I was cooking a hog and 50 lbs. of chickens, outside, for a Halloween Party, on the water by 210 bridge.
Houston was getting pounded, Jordan was getting a little rain here and there, Beaumont and South Deridder no rain, Lake Charles no rain. Friends in Monroe got water up to the eve's of their house. It was bad on the Quichata(spelling?) River up there.
There is flooding all around South Lake Charles.
I just got back from a Halloween Party in the North Lake Charles area. Lots of standing water all over the place. Lots of water still running pretty fast in the ditches, going somewhere and will end up in the river.
One more Halloween Party tomorrow night. But I ain't gotta cook, just drank.

I think the West side of the state got a lot more rain then the East side. However, I find that Big Lake clears-up quick once the winds lay down!

Ray 10-31-2009 11:16 AM

There is hardly any winds right now.
But there is a lot of fresh water coming down the river.

what you say ray? Hit it or no. OR where would we most likely find clear water. I was thinking that by the LNG plant like by DII (the big turning basin) it would be clear there. I used to work for a contract crew at DII and it seemed like that place stayed looking pretty clear.
