Try the end of rats nest road or what they now call lakeview dr in slidell. I've also fished the marsh on the SE side of the twinspan and caught some reds off the bank, just park on the side of the road right before you get onto the twinspan heading back to Slidell and walk through the marsh and fish the bank.

Just make the drive to Grand Isle. I've always had a blast if I catch or not. Plus the beach is on fire right now.
