TSA, cab lines, rent-a-car hassles, delayed flights...

I used to travel for work. In the summer I'd watch the storm cells on radar roll through the Atlanta airport at night. You learn not to be emotional about travel, but pretty soon I loved to love my truck, my iPod, Sirrius radio, audio books. GPS and iPhone for getting around. I leave when I want, a little 5 hour energy to make it home.

And no douche next to me on a slam-full flight wanting to be my best friend for two hours.:shaking:

^^This!!! I spent 4 hours locked up between 2 exits on I-10. I could've flown to Orlando before I took the truck out of park!!

I hear you, the airport in Atlanta is one of the worst in the country, flights seem to be delayed there everyday.

I guess I am lucky here in Houston I have rarely had issues. I would not ever have to go to Atlanta unless it were my destination I can fly direct anywhere I need to go.

When I lived in Baton Rouge at a small airport my opinion was different.

Personally I prefer to simply not travel.

My poor spoiled son was really concerned about us getting to the duck blind. I had my cell ready to call my wife to come and get us.

He will die as the richest man that ever lived though so what he is doing is working I guess.

Lol....traumatized the kid. I made a voyage with him one day also. I didn't know whether I should hang on or jump out and try to save myself!!!

Now that you have your daughter married off it is time to upgrade to just a classic model in the 90s.

I used to love to drive everywhere but over the years I find myself getting very sleepy on long drives now. Longest trip I ever made straight was 16 hrs only stopping for fuel and food. I couldn't do it today!

Driving vs. Flying depends on one thing...how many kids you have to buy tickets for. In my case, it's the me, the wife and three kids. That costs a lot to fly....and then you have to rent a car.

We drove to Colorado this past Christmas and it really went well. I prefer driving so I can take all the luggage and crap that I want.

Traveled to Gainesville several times to compete in college...13 hours on a cramped bus with a bunch of loud people was not fun...I would fly if I could/had to go back. The 7 hours it takes to drive back to DFW is almost too much. Almost.

Agree on the number of kids, that can drive your cost up significantly
