I hunted gators on Black Bayou back in the 90's. It was fresh, people caught Bass and Bream in it.
Both lakes on each side of it were salty. Go figger.
Same with Deep Bayou behind JB. We caught Garfish on jugs, but the farther in the bayou we got, the more Freshwater Catfish we caught.

I recall fishing on a dock a Prien Lake nearly every week back in the mid 1970s. We usually caught puppy drum, sheepshead, and the occasional redfish. But once in a while . . . surprise, bluegill.

I appreciate the discussion. It would be nice to have feedback on the paper by early next week so we can incorporate suggestions into our revisions and keep things moving along. Thanks.

My dad still tells stories about when him and my grandfather used to rent an aluminum boat and paddle out into Black Lake and catch a boat load of white perch.

Of course this was before the oil field canals.
