Consider getting yourself to Houston and get a second opinion. Mitral valve prolapse can be repaired rather easily.
Have a good friend's wife who just had this same type condition. She went to Houston and mitral valve was repaired within a month of first visit.

I heard a story from a witness last night that said you were on the verge of a panic attack when you caught that fish.
