I had a problem with a Great Heron. He found my backyard Gold Fish Pond and started festing on my 3 year old fish, that purchased for 15 cents each. They were nice sized. I tried the fake owl thing. It did not work.

I then placed wood stakes around the pond, and strung fishing line like a spider web all around and over the pond at 2 feet.

The next morning the bird was in the middle of the pond. I ran at him screaming. He got caught up in the line. He was flappin and squaking. he freed himself after a big battle with the line and flew away. Never came back. So I removed the line.

The resorts on the beach here in Pensacola string fishing line high above the pool areas to keep the seagulls away. It works.
