The area where the bridges are is 12 ft average.....

But like bob said there are spots to throw top water.

The banks out of bayou lacombe are shallow.
And there are a few spots on the south bank by trestles and twin spans that I have caught on topwater.

You ever tried the north bank from the mouth of the Tchefuncte towards the Causeway? We caught 'em there a couple times. Also, headed east from the north foot of the Hwy. 11 bridge where all the pilings are.

PUREBAY2200 04-07-2012 11:18 PM

I've caught reds on that north bank; had a buddy catch trout there a few times.
Never fished the spot off hwy 11.
I have caught a good mess in lakeshore estates a few times.

One time in October when the Tchefuncte was really low...we caught rat reds out the wazou around them lilly pads in the mouth......on a Pop R'a. Now, that was a blast.

PUREBAY2200 04-07-2012 11:25 PM

Haha
I bet so!!
There are stumps and logs galore in there!
