Why use tide charts? Except for days or weeks out to plan a trip. Why not use the real time water data? If you're going tomorrow just look at what it is today and adjust accordingly.
Around Turners Bay high tide was at midnight and it slowly fell all day till about an hour ago. here's the link. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/la/nwis/uv...te_no=08017095 Here's the complete list of stations for all of Louisiana. It shows salinity also for areas along the coast. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/la/nwis/current/?type=flow |
It dropped until 12 noon at jetties...then came in after at jetties? Turner's would be 5 hours behind? Kept falling until 5 p.m. at Turner's today? Or, am I wrong.
|
Your absolutely correct. Here's the real time reading for the jetties.
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/la/nwis/uv...te_no=08017118 Go to the list of all stations and find the one you want. Change the output parameters to what you want and.....voila!! |

I will probably piss some people off but this will all change in days anyway
When Tide Slacked up north I would of fished in the BLUE Area where I knew tide was moving.....Not saying you would load the boat but you would have 100% better chance of getting action.... |
Lesson learnt. Check all locations next time. Just stuck to where my gps hit. Will apply next go round.
You been in a helping mood lately. Jigheads and now tide info. |

90% of people don't even know what a tide is that fish on the lake.....They think you just throw dead shrimp out and look for boats.... Boat bread boats...... I can promise the picture I took the other day of all the boats....... only about 3 actually knew the structure of what we were fishing and how to fish it.... the rest just followed and when a few boats would move...so would the followers.... |

Im by no means a "pilgrim" when it comes to boat and etiquitte on the water. Only been fishing the lake since nov 2010 and its been weekends at that. Still learning. Catching more fish so its getting more enjoyable.

WRONG that is the OYSTER BOATS HOLE:cool: |
Just want to say thanks to W, that's pretty good info for ppl who don't get to fish the lake often. I will never crowd any boat and I would say that I give everyone on the water plenty respect and space when fishing. I wish I could say ppl do the same for me. Last Monday some idiot saw me catch a fish, the next cast he was right in front of us in my drift. I shared a few harsh words, then slung a jighead into the back of his left shoulder. Most assholish move I've ever seen and that was the second time he messed up our fishing. No telling how many other ppl he pissed off that day.

where "W" would have fished

Damn W, thanks for the tips. This definitely looks like what I need to do since I can only fish 2-3x a month.
