Theres no way that thing would have passed me without ending up in the boat.

Well I thought about it ,but it was too big and I was alone. I wasnt too sure he was gonna be happy about going for a boat ride and there wasnt enough room in the boat for him and me .

We still have a lot of them at our camp in Miss, Miss river floods our lake every year & brings them in, River is full of em! We caught one several years ago 107lbs, snapped a boat paddle handle like a toothpick.

This is the first one of this size I have ever seen in the wild . I'm just glad I got pics of it at least.

You are allowed to harvest one per year as a resident of LA, and if I am correct, think non-residents are not allowed to harvest them. That one would have been on the cleaning table at home for sure. They have lots of them around, you just need to know where to look for them.

You'd be correct sir...........Same way in Miss, Tried telling a hardhead that I was working with in Pascagoula, He caught a butt load & finally got caught:work: fine wasn't pretty:shaking:

its got to be cooked right^^^I bet my grandma could whip up some and put a lil crawfish tails in in and you would not even notice it...

To me, Turtle meat is the best there is. I will pass on a steak any day of the week for a good turtle gravy or stew. Cant be beat in my book.
