Thanks guys! He was born at 9:16 tonight, 6 lbs 12 oz, 20 3/4 inches long! They're keeping him in the NCIU tonight to make sure that his lungs are developed enough so he breathes well on his own.

Yea Tim, he's exactly 4 weeks early. I didn't know this but that only makes him 1 week premature, I didn't know full term was considered to be 37 weeks.

O and a little update.

He's doing a little better, he's still breathing a little fast so they gonna see how he's doing around 9 and hopefully then they can bring him into our room.

Congrats on the new addition to the family, and i pray for a speedy recovery for him and the mom. Kids are a blessing and they grow up fast. Before you know it he'll be right there with you in the blind and in the boat.

My little boy's lungs were the same way as a premi. It's nerve racking as all get-out but, hospitals are really up to speed on this stuff. Congrats on your new addition! Ya need something, gimme a call!

Now, get some rest. You're gonna need all you can!

Garfish 01-20-2011 09:57 AM

Congrats!!!
My daughter came 4 weeks early also and had a few premy issues, but she came out of it well. Hoping for a speedy recovery for your son and wife. He'll come around and be keeping ya up at night in no time.

Having a premie is scarry!!! But today's medicine is so advanced!! Ross, not sure you remember, but Huey was 3 mths early and you saw him at he camp. He's a horse!!!!......nothing to worry about bro......the docs and nurses know what they're doing.......

Thanks guys! It looks like he's gonna need to stay in NICU another 24 hrs but he's being a real trooper about it! He was opening his eyes when I would talk to him and looks very comfortable which makes me very happy right now.
