yeh the music isnt great....but pretty cool stuff

i had a 2001 hoda rancher with full exhaust, carb jetted, k and n air filter, snorkeled, tires and rims, shaved the head .025, ported polished the head. i believe thats it. it was crap. i had to rebuild it 4 times. granted it was a mudbike but still. i change fluids after every hard ride. i talked to a oldschool honda mech. and he told me when honda turned the motor 90 degerees that was the first mistake. then they started making the motors from a cheaper metel, which allowed honda to be the cheapest bike on the market but also the most unreliable. basically the old 300's you could not kill. so when they came out with the ranchers everybody thought they were getting the legendary 300's performance with a little extra power. but that was not the case at all. that is why hoda is now the cheapiest priced bike in the market. just go shop around and see whose bike is the cheapiest. its always good to remember you get what you pay for.

who else makes them without the auto trans?

I used to ride all the time out a bun****s lake. I had a Foreman 500 lifted with 27" (Ballooned up to 28"+) Mud Machine Bi/Tri Claws and a Warn winch. Used to ride right past them boys stuck with their belts slipin. I think the Foreman is the most reliable bike on the market, just not designed for deep muddin. My bike was stolen from my back yard right after Rita. One thing I learned is insurance is a must on a nice ride. Another thing is your insurace will cover one engine rebuild a year. This was a good feeling for the deep muddin I was doing.

i don't know of any large bikes with out the auto tranny. but nowadays they have the belt housings pretty well sealed so the belt slipping is not a issue. go yamaha or go home.

The biggest bike out with a manuel tranny is arctic cat's 500m. The only way the autos really slip is when water gets in through the vent or belt housing intake. A snorkle takes care of that.

Honda= no slipping

Honda does make a good farm bike or light trail bike. But for mudding and boggin it isn't worth the blue smoke they pour out the tailpipe.

they all cost big bucks to fix i have a honda and a rhino and they are both high dollar to maintain.

ive been getting stuck with our honda 700 at work a lot (i work for a marsh breeding lab at LSU) and we found a new trick.

If you take a shovel, put it in the ground about 20 feet in front your bike and attach your winch at the very bottom you can pull yourself out with no problem
